Thursday Sunset

Last night we had a spectacular sunset. Here's what I saw from the window:

There is a storm forecast for today... almost worth having a storm if the sky looks like this!

Last Night's Sunset

I didn't think that I would get to take any new photos to post for this theme, but last night we had a beautiful sunset at the end of a very hot day.

Sunrise, sunsets

For Thematic Photographic 238, here are some morning and evening photos.

Sunrise in Christchurch:

Sunrise in Bursa, Turkey:

Two sunsets taken from my front door steps:

and a strange sunset effect taken from the same place a couple of weeks ago:

Remember this?

Sunday Snapshot

Last night we had a beautiful sunset.
There was an odd moment at the end of it, when a column of light shone upwards.
This shot doesn't do justice to what was an amazing sight.

TP 227: Warmth

 Christmas Warmth

The temperature here on Christmas day was about 26˚C (79˚F), and the weather was very humid and drizzly.

Sophie was keen to be outside, but didn't fancy getting wet...

By the time the turkey was ready, we weren't just warm - we were HOT!

I was very happy when the cool of evening eventually rescued us:

3 things that make me happy on another Monday

Our new school year has only just officially begun, but already I can feel my shoulders tensing up, and my "to-do" list is of epic proportions. Plus, there are family issues... how old do my kids have to be before I no longer have to worry about them?

So - I'm taking some time out from working and worrying to visit 3 things which have the capacity to cheer me up. Instantly.

#1: Spring flowers
Massed tulips in the Wellington Botanical gardens

#2: Painted skies
Sunset from my window

#3: Water
Well, you know there'd have to be a water pic in there somewhere!
A peaceful, tranquil morning. Not today!
