Sunrise, sunsets

For Thematic Photographic 238, here are some morning and evening photos.

Sunrise in Christchurch:

Sunrise in Bursa, Turkey:

Two sunsets taken from my front door steps:

and a strange sunset effect taken from the same place a couple of weeks ago:

Remember this?

“There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them.”

  1. I do remember Fiddler on the Roof. And could probably still sing much of it (but won't, since I am decidedly not a singer). I love your sunrises and sunsets and am still fascinated by the beam me up Scottie one.

  3. Great photos! It is sunrises and sunsets are beautiful no matter where they are and unusual ones can be anywhere! Fiddler on the Roof, what a wonderful story and this song, so appropriate. Thank you for the chance to listen to it!

  5. Haha yes, the Fiddler.

Those are great shots...I haven't been able to get any good ones at my present location, that's why I used a flower instead.

  6. I've never in my life been able to take a decent sunrise/set photo. These are very nice. The top one is especially good.

    1. Thank you Lisa. I can't do decent moon shots, much to my disappointment!

  10. I love the prospect of stepping outside time and again and never seeing the same thing. You've reinforced why none of this will ever get old - for the shooter as well as the viewer.
