Thematic Photographic 247 !! I've missed a few, I think.
On the water - my favourite place.
Last term holidays I was in Melbourne, one of my favourite cities.
The Yarra River runs through the central city
It was autumn, hence the grey skies. Not too cold though.
I never seem to have much luck at St Kilda, the famous beachside suburb - for me, the skies are always grey and lowering:
Swan number 36
And a re-post of a late afternoon sky at Seacliff, Adelaide, on the same trip -
Oh my. On or by the water is one of my most favourite places as well. The light there - on bright or on overcast days has a magic I don't feel anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteI love your swan, and your final image is stunning. Thank you.
Yes, I love the sometimes surprising effects that cloudy skies can create in a photo!
DeleteWhat beautiful photos, all stunning captures that just draw you in. What a wonderful trip that must have been Alexia.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! Any trip is good, and that one was lovely.
DeleteThat swan is superb even if its neck appears constricted.
ReplyDeleteThere were lots of them, Bob, and each one had a number band around its neck. I couldn't find out why.
DeleteThat last shot is so spectacular!
ReplyDelete~
Lucky shot! Thanks, thunder.
DeleteBeautiful pictures, even with the grey skies. Maybe even because of them. I love the two with the city in the background.

Deleteswans and water always fascinating: love the clear water.....
ReplyDeleteIn some parts of New Zealand they have become pests, Gilly - they have to be culled every few years, which makes me sad.
