The First Day of Spring

In this hemisphere, September 1st is the official beginning of Spring.

It wasn't raining, for once, so of course Manu LeGrand and I headed to a beach for our walk.
When we got back, I walked around the garden looking for spring signs.

    1. It's a Grevillea, thunder - it's an Australian native which grows well in the northern parts of New Zealand.

  3. I did pretty much the same garden wander myself. And I also have some grevillea out - the birds love it. I don't understand how they don't get spiked by its prickly leaves, but they seem to manage just fine. Everything else in your garden seems a bit more advanced than it is over here. We have hyacinths in plenty though. The garden is perfumed by them (and so is the house because I couldn't resist picking one).

    1. We haven't really got much out yet - camellias of course, but nothing else to speak of. Hyacinths don't seem to be grown much over here, except for forced ones in. pots

  4. Ahh, spring. I love being able to see, and somewhat experience, your spring and summer (my favorite seasons) as we head into fall and winter. Thanks.

  6. We're just entering a British Autumn. Rain, cold and mist. Bit like summer but without the bugs.
