People have been posting some great RED shots in answer to this week's challenge over at Written Inc.
I don't have any fantastic red sunsets, but I found a few red pics in a quick sweep through my albums.

At the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations in Ankara, Turkey, I took this lovely bronze artifact. It was used by Hittite priests and symbolises the universe, and it is dated from 2100 B.C.

Four shots from this year's trip to Italy:
poppies growing at an arborio rice farm
a red lighthouse spotted from the ferry trip along the Ligurian coast
and one of the beautiful beasts at the Ferrarri Museum at Parma
This little red Fiat parked along the road from the Museum didn't match the Ferrarri, but
it's cute! One of these was my first car ever.

Finally, back home in New Zealand: a beautiful bloom from the native Pohutukawa tree, growing in my own backyard
That’s an amazing collection of reds. The lighthouse really stands out from the landscape doesn’t it?
ReplyDeleteI love your selection.. I have never seen a red poppy.. Here in Calif. all we have are the orange ones that are our state flower...
ReplyDeleteYou know my most favorite is the lighthouse, wow, I'd love to tour that....all your red photos are stunning, especially the flower...beautiful!...and your Ferrarri looks just like the one I had for my very own race track growing (the kind that plugged into the wall and would mess up the tv image downstairs, and drive my mother crazy) up...it was about the only red car I truly liked.....and many got new paint jobs.....Excellent reds Alexia!
ReplyDeleteThe artefact, the Ferrari and the flower fromNew Zealand would be my top reds.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the lighthouse, can't miss that building. Of course, I love the Ferrarri, but I think Fiat did an excellent job of recreating the 500. And that tree in your backyard is spectacular.
ReplyDeletethose are some gorgeous REDS!! the lighthouse REALLY stands out...and the POPPIES!! OH, that last flower looks so much like a flower that grows in my garden...only once a year, it blooms for about a week and then dies away...have no idea what it is...
ReplyDeleteI loved the lighthouse too - I've never seen a red one before!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, everybody.
My first car was the color of the setting sun. I love red.
ReplyDeleteYou honored the color with your photos.
Don't mind if I load these onto my iPad and just enjoy the slide show for a while. All spectacular. All memorable on their own unique merits.
ReplyDeleteWow. That tree blossom is amazing! And it's right in your yard! Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of red! The flower blooming in your backyard is very unique. And the Fiat looks like you could pick it up and take it home, so cute and tiny.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your visit - and for your comments!
