I'm going to limit myself to 3 shots this week. Click on the picture to make it BIGGER !
The Roman aqueduct near Aspendos. Those Romans sure thought big:

Finally some BIG people at my favourite place for hanging around and filling in time between flights: Singapore's Changi Airport
Awesome pictures! That one inside the Cathedral is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the aqueduct!
ReplyDeleteImpressive aqueduct but the one inside the Cathedral is brilliant especially the way you have caught the colours reflected from the stained glass.
ReplyDeleteAlexia, only three??? lol on the Roman end alone I bet you could post many more...hint, hint...! ;) All things Roman are great (big) elegant visions ....simply lovely ! I too am a fan of your BIG people, is that a child on his shoulder? Very nice post for Carmi, hope he gets to see it too...especially the last photo...I also enjoyed your lighthouse at the top header...I am so hooked on lighthouses, and we just don't have enough in Minnesota...that is just horrible! Michgian had so many more and the East coast well they are flooded with them....Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteAll breathtaking photos. Love the play of light in the cathedral.
ReplyDeleteThanks all; yes Karen, my initial selection had waaaay too many monuments and ruins :)
ReplyDeleteoh i just LOVE that first picture...the BIG aqueduct!! then...i really do like old buildings...stone...it just fascinates me!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that cathedral picture with the dappled blues and yellows is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAntonio Gaudi is my hero. What a visionary! Maybe La Sagrada Familia will be finished in our lifetimes. Or maybe it's just as well that it continues to be built with no end date in sight. Either way, a sign of a big thinker.
ReplyDeleteAnd that aqueduct....stunning, considering when it was built. For all its brutality, that was one incredibly capable society. Big by any definition.
I hesitated about putting the interior of the cathedral in my post - I do kind of gravitate back to Gaudi! - so glad that everybody liked that shot.
