Better Late than Gone Forever....

Okay so by the time anybody sees this Carmi will probably have posted a new theme 
and no one will in fact see this...

But anyway, here are my "Somewhat worse for wear" shots for Thematic Photographic 219. ( My only excuse is, we move house next Saturday. And Mr A is sick. And school is frenetic...)

There used to be a goldmine pumphouse here:

There used to be mine shafts here...



and there used to be a house up there, before the Christchurch earthquakes...



and there used to be a family here...

    They're great shots Alexia. I love seeing old houses like this- it always makes me wonder about who lived there and what their lives were like.

    Thank you for these. They are much more beautiful than anything my mind would think up for that theme.
    I hope that school calms down, that Mr A is getting better fast, and that your house move goes as smoothly as possible. Exciting times. Traumatic and exhausting, but exciting too.

    Alexia, I'm seeing them! and I love the first one... The angle of the tree as well as the pumphouse structure!. You have some good examples here!.

    Ooh! I like the first and last ones best, especially that top one. Well done.
    By the way, I see you're reading The Importance of Being Seven. I can only guess that it's part of the 44 Scotland St. series. I really must pick that one up. I thoroughly enjoyed that series right up to The Unbearable Lightness of Scones, and then I forgot about it. Bertie is everyone's favorite character, I think. :)

    i LOVE all your 'used to be' pictures!! i just love OLD places...abandoned...ruined...what stories there are to be told, and listened to.

    i feel bad, not having participated in Carmi's theme for a few weeks now. life has been hectic...i'm sure i'll get back in the swing of things soon....)
