I haven't been around the blog world very much lately, I'm afraid - just a quick check now and then, the occasional comment. I have been day-blurringly busy, and I do
miss having the time to linger.
Our new school year began on February 1st. I had gone in most days for several weeks before that, and felt as if I was pretty well prepared - HA! The reality of kids in front of you plus the million things associated with the beginning of the year - plus the sad sudden death of a just-retired colleague - all of it has been making me feel as if I don't have a second to spare. Last night I took the dog for his walk at 10.30!
Apart from that there are lots of changes happening in my outside-school life, connected with selling the house we have been in for 24 years, all of the stresses that go with clearing out stuff, packing stuff, looking for somewhere to live ... whew. You get the picture.
I hope to get some time to myself some day week month soon. I haven't forgotten y'all!
In the meantime, have a wonderful day today
Well your students look ready to rock your world in a good way! In that case you are so very lucky...packing and moving not so much...but then looking on the bright side...new adventures to behold...So sorry about your loss as well, those times are never what we expect....I like your hearts at the end.....we will be doing all the heart things here tomorrow! Looking forward to your next visit, when ever you can!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen - that's a group from a few years ago. But this year's kids are great, too :)
ReplyDeleteCute kid pic.
ReplyDeleteI assumed this group would be adults now. Otherwise you wouldn't be posting the photo!
Why are you moving house? Time to downsize? Best of luck to you.
Love the pyramid, class pictures are always fun. We're halfway through our 3rd term, so it was weird to see the title "Back to School". Hope you have a great year!
ReplyDeleteWhere are they now, he ponders. (Not moved back in with their parents, one hopes!)
ReplyDelete~
Day blurringly busy. Great phrase--I'm going to borrow it! Moving after 24 years--I can't imagine. I've been in this house for 21 years. If I had to move, I think I would just leave it all behind and start over. Moving is one of the most stressful things in life. And at the beginning of your school year. Well, those look like some terrific students, so tha is a bright spot!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. With all that on your plate I am amazed that you have found any time for blogging. We will be here when you are ready to return.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime good luck with all that has squeezed onto your plate.
Lisa - yep, sick of looking after a swimming pool and a large garden...thanks!
ReplyDeleteMax - it's going to be an interesting one, for sure.
thunder - that group? most of them have graduated from university and are moving off overseas, getting married, etc..
Galen - I know it's going to be extremely stressful - but it's also exciting!
EC - thank you. I'll still be checking out all of your lovely photos.
