Thematic Photographic 137: Late

Late in the evening....

The low light of the setting sun reflects off St James' Anglican church in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

And from the Kemp Mission House, the oldest surviving European building in this young country

I love the warm glow of the walls of the Old Stone Store:

Down by the water, it's getting darker

Dusk - my favourite time of day.

  1. I like this collection, the houses show up well and you led us by the nose to the water. What is kept in the Old Stone Store?

  2. It still operates as a store! It was built in 1832 and is a tourist/craft/information centre.
    Thanks for visiting, Bob :)

  4. Oh this church is so lovely and inviting!...the old stone store is also a favorite photo of mine, it begs to be seen in its boldness, and as always I enjoy every water photo you have late or blue or whatever the theme! Great post Alexia! Thank you for sharing a most perfect collection!

  6. I love old buildings, and these are great pictures of some! The pictures of the bay are beautiful too. Unfortunately, in Utah, the only lake you really see sailboats on is the Great Salt Lake, only because the salt would kill the engines of the motorized ones.

  7. Happy St. Patrick's Day to you Alexia! I've been dragging a bit in spirit and never even put up a St. Patty's Day post, but I am sending you the luck of the Irish and this very inspiring Irish quote, "May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past," Did you wear green and eat corn beef today? I saw some really funny stuff today from tall green hats to something like thing 1 and thing 2 in green/white...really!
