I've had an incredible ten weeks.
It's going to take some time to readjust to the real world, but I guess it has to be done.
I've had the plaster cast taken off my left hand (don't ask!), and I'm on antibiotics for the nasty cough I picked up during the 30 hours it takes to fly from Glasgow to Auckland.
Things will return to normal.
I've got thousands of photos, but I'll start off gently with one I took from the back of my camel. This was in southern Morocco, at the northern edge of the Sahara.
Welcome back. You have been missed.
ReplyDeleteYou know we want to hear about your trip. Including the broken hand.
Love the desert photo.
Camel trip or camel safari? And do they pass wind as enthusiastically (and copiously) as elephants?
You're very kind, EC.
DeleteIt was just a short outing - a bit over 3 hours. I've never ridden an elephant, so I can't compare the two, but there were certainly loud and frequent rear emissions :)
Nothing was broken; I dislocated my left thumb when I slipped and put my hand down to stop myself falling. It could have been much worse - I could have broken something, or it could have been been my right thumb. I spent the last 10 days of the trip with a half-hand cast.
What a trip! Welcome back, hope your hand is all better soon!

Thanks thunder. It already feels much better without the plaster!
DeleteOh goodness, you have been in my thoughts, so happy you are back. You must share all your stories, what an incredible adventure, sorry about the mishaps, but that's a part of getting out and about! This gentle ease into your surely most incredible captures, is timeless beauty! Wow. I'm excited to view more.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Karen. You'll probably get very sick of my travel posts before they're finished!
DeleteI hope your hand and cough fix up soon. Lung infections are no fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you John. They certainly are not fun!
