Treetops

This topic took me straight back to Australia in October a couple of years ago.
A friend and I visited the Otway Fly, 2½ hours' drive from Melbourne.
The walkway is built among the treetops, and is 30m (98½ ft) above the forest floor - if you
climb the 'spiral tower', you will be 47m (154 ft) up.
I don't normally feel too comfortable with heights, but this was a great experience.

  1. Oh how beautiful. While I LOVED Antarctica, I suffered badly from tree deprivation. And the longing suprised me with its intensity.

    1. I really love trees. One of the things I most disliked about building a new house on a bare piece of land was not having any trees on our section. Luckily, there were plenty round about to delight in.
All of the little new trees I have planted get a bucket of water each every night in this hot weather :)

  2. Those are beautiful shots, especially those silvery trunks. But not in a million years would you get me on that aerial walkway!!!

  3. I don't mind the heights. I'd love to hang out up there and wait for the birds to show!

  4. Lovely views, Alexia. I think I would have been a bit nervous being up that high! Well done you :)

    1. Thank you, Jess. I must admit I was glad to be on the ground again - but it was certainly worth it!

  5. Of all natures gifts, the sky, our trees and every drop of water, is but a magical kingdom. We are so lucky. You have shared just my kind of place to wander and play. Lovely photos, Alexia.

  6. Wonderful photos. One day I may get the gumption to take an "aerial walk"!
