This week, Carmi's theme is On the Water, and people have been posting
beautiful water pictures - go here to see.
In all of these, I am the one "on the water".
Crossing the Bosphorus by ferry:
On a cruise boat, looking at the Old Port in Antalya, Turkey:
Another ferry trip, this time across the Dardanelles:
Views and villages on the Cinque Terre, Italy - from the water:
Coming in to Portofino, Italy, on yet another ferry boat:
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea.

The pics with the colorful buildings at the water's edge appeal to me most tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. I would really like to go back there. Sigh.
DeleteI feel like I've just glimpsed my dream vacation! All totally amazing photos of incredible spots on the bluest of waters. The quote by e.e.cummings is perfect as he is!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! He is one of my favourite poets :)
DeleteFeel free to dream your way into my pics!!
These are all stunning - Cinque Terre grabbed at my heart because it features in our plans to visit this year :)
ReplyDeleteOh I really hope you get there, Kath - it is absolutely fantastic. You must go!!
DeleteWater is always such a benison. And (important for one with my sea legs - none) all of this water was CALM as well as beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDelete"Benison" - what a lovely calm-sounding word.
DeleteCinque Terre is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday...

Just do it, thunder. I used to say "someday..." too
DeleteBeautiful places that I would love to visit in reality. I can always hope. In the meantime I'll have to make do with your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob. I feel the same way when I look at your lovely shots of England and elsewhere. The UK is in my planner for 2014 - if the planets align themselves kindly...
DeleteThese make me want to travel. Thanks so much for sharing.

ReplyDeleteand the ee cummings quote...perfect!!
Thank you laura. Don't you love his poems? :)
DeleteAbsolutely stunning how life can literally be built right into the seashore. I've always been entranced by seaside communities, and wish the practicalitles of life - you know, raising kids, working, etc. - didn't have to get in the way all the time. What I wouldn't give to live in any one of these places.
