So many pictures to choose from. I promise that they're not all sea ones ;)
I posted a sepia version of this photo last year, but here's the original version, which I like much better. This is in the Uyuni salt desert in Bolivia. Isn't that the bluest sky you've ever seen?
I love tennis. When I went to Melbourne last year it was great to visit the Rod Laver Arena where the Australian open is being held as we speak! This is the Margaret Court court :)

This chap struck me as having a rather wistful air, in spite of his hat almost matching the bin he's leaning on. What was he gazing at? This:
Thematic Photographic happens every week here. Check it out!
That first one struck me as fascinating, that formation in the desert is amazing. And the guy staring out at the boats just gives me a feeling of contentment. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your sea photos too! But all these are perfect, great colors of blue, the man and his hat only gets better when you see the lovely boat scene he's enjoying. The Wellington photo just calls out ...beautiful city a must see! Blue is always pleasant especially a rich blue cloudless sky like the first photo! Nice selection of photos Alexia!
ReplyDeleteTo be perfectly honest, the blue sky over the salt desert doesn't look at all unusual to me, as I live in a desert and the sky does get that blue fairly often.
ReplyDeleteBut that rock! Wow! Was that wind erosion or was it in the path of an arroyo (one of those creeks formed by flash floods-- you probably don't use that word much in NZ, but I can't think of another word for it)?
And Bolivia! Did you go alone or with a group? It seems like you love to travel as much as I do, and you've been to some places that make me jealous.
The waterfront pic is lovely also. What is it about boats in a harbor that seems so peaceful?
I agree w/Max on the first one.. that formation is cool... against the blue sky...
ReplyDeleteAll a great shots but I especially loved #2...The life and death on the same tree..
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!!!!
absolutely love the desert one, and the bay, well I would just love to be there now ...
ReplyDeletei love them all but the first one is fascinating...thank you for stopping by my blog
ReplyDeleteNice of you all to leave comments - thanks!
ReplyDeletePBW - I think wind erosion - and salt, since it's a salt desert. It's stunning, isn't it? And you've been to waaay more places than I have!
Such a beautiful series of blue photos! But the one I find most enchanting is the salt desert in Bolivia with that amazing sculpture from Nature offset by the blue of the sky! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeletebeautiful blues, so unusual to see a blue tennis court but that dessert form is amazing, great photos.
ReplyDeleteWow! GirlFren, you take great pictures!
ReplyDeleteThese are terrific, the whole set. The first one is amazing and I really like the tree in the second. My favorite is probably the tennis court, though. And the last one, of the boats is wonderful
