Words that should be removed from the lexicon # 1

Iconic

This comes from this site which sells iconic Dr Who collectables.
Need I say more?

On a different note - this from a local newspaper:

Free
Cavalier King Charles spaniel,
5 yrs, neutered, microwaved
Bay of Plenty Times, 8/5/12

  2. Microwaved? That's a new one to me. I'm baffled as to what they could have meant.

  3. Oh! It never occurred to me that this would be mysterious in other countries!
Here all dogs must be microchipped ;)

  4. This is too funny! Our Cocker Spaniel, Allie has a microchip (by the breeder) but usually it's just called a microchip! They are very effective for owners with run-away dogs! :)

  5. Ahhhh, now I get it. We have the option of getting our pets microchipped, but at least in Utah, it's not required. Even funnier now that I know.

  6. Microwaved....? No wonder they're giving him away!

  7. Next thing you know, our Department of Homeland Security will require that people get microwaved.

  9. I love this. And yes, far too many things have apparently achieved iconic status while my back has been turned.
The description of Olympic medallists as heroes also causes me to grind my teeth.

  10. A word I would like removed from use is Brownlee. But then it is debatable that he has much use anyway.
