Summer...

It's raining. Summer.

I am reliably informed that there are 15 more sleeps until Christmas.

I'm still dealing with birthdays - grandson's yesterday, daughter's coming up on Monday.

I have done no Christmas shopping, neither presents or food.
I am hosting Christmas dinner this year.

Mr A has shingles. Not too badly it seems, at the moment, but even so - shingles.

I have been working full-time as a national examination centre manager for the last six weeks (finished now, thank heavens!)

Yup - it's the festive season.

  1. Sigh.
We have an excess of birthdays between now and the end of January too. Including at least one significant one.
All I want for Christmas is Boxing Day. The fuss is over, I can (hopefully) point hungry people at the fridge and with luck I will have a new book or two.
Good luck, and I do hope the shingles stays mild.

    1. Thanks Strayer. He doesn't seem to be getting much pain, thankfully. He's a bit grumpy, though :)

  3. Oh no so sorry, I do hope you're better soon. I decided last year to take a vaccine for it and so far so good, but many folks I know not so lucky. Tis the season I so enjoy except for the weather that arrives, but thinking of all the goodness right now! It was marvelous to see you stop by my blog, I've missed you!

    1. I know I have been an absentee lately, Karen - life has taken control and I seem to have no time to do anything fun, like visiting your blog!
It's my husband that has the shingles, not me - and he is through the worst of it, I think.

  4. I hope Mr. A feels better, soon!

I know that feeling...Christmas puts a lot of extra stress in delivering the goods and the big dinner...

    1. It's sad that it's become like this. Nearly everyone I know just wants it to be over!
